I just wanted to share my experience applying Prodiamine for any other first timers who may be searching for this information as I was a couple weeks ago.
I am responsible for maintaining two lawns - my home and my business. At the business, I don't have any hoses hooked up so I applied it as instructed - using a tank sprayer. Later in the day I went home and used Morpheus' method - a hose-end sprayer. In my opinion, the hose-end sprayer method is FAR better. Why?
1. It's much easier to apply evenly and not miss any spots.
2. The wind doesn't affect it as much.
3. You use more water, so the Prodiamine gets down to the soil easier.
4. It's faster.
I was a little worried based on other advice I had read that the granules would clog up the hose-end sprayer, but that was not the case. I simply dumped my .75 TBSP in the reservoir and filled the rest up with water, creating a liquid concentrate. The granules dissolved instantly. I refilled for every 1000 sq ft. I found that applying at a rate of 3 oz per gallon (according to the sprayer setting) was a great rate to cover the area in two different directions (grid pattern) to ensure I hit every square foot of lawn.
