Hi, sevenebulas! I'm sorry you didn't get any replies so far. It looks like it may be an older rose - it may even be the rootstock coming through; in any case, I'd suggest re-posting your query on the Antique Roses forum.

It would help if you can include some more details - your approximate location, if you have any idea when it may have been originally planted (and/or the date/decade the house was built), any fragrance and what kind, does it only bloom once a year or does it repeat - once, or more often?

Could you also post a picture of the entire plant, plus a close-up of the underside of a bloom, so we can clearly see the sepals (the 5 green leaf-like things), the receptacle (swelling) and the flower stem there; also a clear one of a complete set of leaflets including the stipule (the wing-like widening, sometimes feathery, at the base of the leaflets' stem, where it joins the bigger stem.

Lastly, have a look at the base of the plant for any knobbly swelling that may be visible at around soil level or just below - gently scrape away a bit of soil if necessary to see if it's there. If there is one, the rose is grafted to a rootstock. See if you can tell whether the rose with the pink bloom is growing from this knobbly part, or from below it - if from below, it's the rootstock.
