New Kitchen Aid Appliances?

Has anyone seen these in person or have any experience with them? Thinking of getting the suite for my kitchen, but would love some feedback.

By way of comparison, also considering:

Bosch 800 series

GE Profile

All gas (potentially dual fuel), counter depth FD fridge, DW and range hood.

Thanks in advance!

Steven

Thank you for the very helpful response. It's the built-ins that have the platinum interior, so I don't think we will be getting that. I'm going with Architect II CD and DW. Their new gas range and a Best hood. Wish I could find some more info on them though! No reviews out yet.

Mimipadv - thanks! What appliances do you have? What else did you consider? I'd love to see some photos if you have any handy.

I have the cabinet depth french door refrigerator, under counter microwave and double wall ovens.

    I can post pics tomorrow.

I'd love to hear about your ovens and dishwasher ( as I'm considering the KA over the Bosch on that front for no clean filters) mimipadv. However I'm considering the KA micro/covection double oven combo, so its probably not what you have.

Senzer the fridge I saw wasn't built in, I don't even think it was counter depth, it was french doors with icemaker/water on door. It was pricey (to me) at around $3,000 and again I'm 95% sure almost positive not counter depth.

I have a KA dishwasher bought just last year - model KUDS35FXSS5 - and I am NOT impressed. Loved it at first and of course had no problems until the warranty ran out a few months ago. Since then, it's been no end of grief. I wonder if they built in a timer for things to go wrong once the warranty had expired??? Specifically: first, the top rack broke. Literally, the plastic piece that holds the rack onto the rail broke, and so the rack itself was hanging on only one side. We had to order new side rails and replace them, which was easy - but I expected it should've lasted longer than that. Now for the last month or two it just doesn't clean things. Sometimes it "runs" but clearly no water has gone through. Sometimes the things on the bottom rack are clean but not on the top. Sometimes it's fine. In the last week, though, it's been working about 20% of the time ... and then, not well (unless I run it on the Heavy Duty cycle, but that ticks me off because it isn't energy efficient and I shouldn't have to do that). I think it's a problem with getting water into the unit, but I can't figure it out yet. Time to call the repairman ... again. My sister-in-law has the same washer and says it only works for her if she always turns on both Heavy Duty and ProScrub options, which - again - is a ridiculous and energy-wasting solution.

Needless to say, I'd go with the Bosch.

FWIW, I have cleaned the filter in my Bosch dishwasher exactly once since we started using it in December 2013 (I took it out one other time and there was nothing in it to clean)

    Thanks sjhockeyfan!

sjhockeyfan325- same here for our Bosch dishwasher. We got one with a light that projects on the floor so we can tell if the cycle is still going and not open it.

    Very quiet.

sarahmlee, what a coincidence about your dishwasher. My mom has a 4year old KitchenAid KUDE40FXSS0, the "Architect Series" and it is doing the exact same thing yours is. The upper rack wheels broke off and I have an "adjustment assembly" on order. Also, it does not clean as well as it used to and she is rinsing everything off the dishes before loading.

Once when I was staying over I tried something. I cleaned the filter canister with a toothbrush and Lysol toilet cleaner (wear rubber gloves doing this) and then squirted some where the tub meets the door on the bottom and put some in the dispenser and brushed the dispenser too. There was a lot of white buildup on the stainless steel and the cleaner seemed to remove some of it. Then I ran it on 1 hour wash with no dishes in it. When it was on, I noticed that the spray was a little louder and when it was done, some of the white was not there. I think it might be washing a bit better now. Unlike the machines in the past, these new ones are affected by the minerals. I used what I had and there is probably a better product but something like this might help, that is if there is water getting into the machine in the first place.

I think we have the same fridge! How do you like it?

I like it because for a counter depth, it is pretty roomy. Glad we got the "pro" handles.
