This is rediculous. The first photo came posted correctly, second flipped sideways. Even went in and flipped it clock-wise to see if it would flip counter clock-wise to correct it. It did not.

Rick, I ve one almost same like yours, I ve prune it to vy short and after one and half month it started to bloom flowers again, until now still non stop blooming.

I love the branching on this plant, Rick. It does look like it could use some trimming on branches that are getting lengthy. I will let the pros weigh in on where the cuts should happen.

Yes. very nice structure and lots of possibilities for shaping. I had been pondering on it since you first posted--trying to visualize how it would look if certain things were done to it. I have several plants that I had trimmed a couple of times to get more branching--thinking nothing about the eventual shape they might take. Now that you have brought it up, in future I am going to direct the pruning with shaping in mind. I like your idea of the "mushroom" shape. Thank you.

Hm..In your first photo, I would probably just cut slightly below that bifurcation, Rick. Your plant already looks like it's close to the look you want. Another thing I often do is remove the runt branches that often develop below much stronger and fatter branches and for some reason never really catch up. As far as I can tell, there is an even chance of it just healing over or growing another, stronger branch node.

Thanks Kadie. This is why I really like the stout growing plants. I really do not like the look of them after years of pruning, when leafless. All the old pruning sites do not look overly attractive, but when in leaf you do not see it.

This is the same plant since it's pruning. Each new branch appears to have inflorescence starting. The one thing that I have found is that many of the blooms on plants I have pruned in two years in a row are subsequently smaller in size. Will post a photo of the bloom last year, later.

Rick, about the flowers getting smaller with each pruning session...perhaps a change of fertilizer is needed? When I finally potted up and changed out the soil and added fertilizer to Bilibong's clone, the flower size grew larger than the parent's and the stem got fatter. But then I didn't prune at the time so I may be wrong.

It has grown with a nice full set of branches all around. Very glad for this.
Kadie, It could be fertilizer, although I was using the same last year. Not sure if it was that it only produced a few flower buds last year that they where larger? Definitely a thought though, Kadie.
In the next Photo is it last year.

Thinking of something, but while I am doing so, I think I will start another thread.
