Lovely home. I agree it needs some 'warming up' though.

If you did window boxes, I'd probably stick to the bottom windows, for ease in watering them, and for the look.

This house is a perfect style for shutters! Just please if you do get shutters, get the correct size and hang them properly!! I'm so sick of seeing shutters that aren't done right, and actually are a negative instead of positive. Here's a post I wrote about this: Shutters, Get the right size!

I also would add some landscaping...

What about a lovely white arbor at the edge of your yard where the sidewalk meets, and a hedge of boxwood from the arbor or open gate with flanking fence panels to your front porch. That would pull the white of the house out towards the yard, expanding the feeling.

I'd also consider painting the front door with a splash of color... something that feels warm and inviting.

A path from the driveway to the walkway would be great. I would mimic the curve of the flower bed for the walkway. Add a lamppost along the path. I can see the entrance made larger and semi enclosed.
