Enlarged/awkward living room - layout help

Our house has an enlarged/somewhat awkward living room. Was previously a den plus a living room - wall was removed by previous owners.
As you see we have TV in corner of "first living room". Is it better to remove this and add large (80") TV where the long table is opposite the couch? Distance from couch to TV would then be roughly 18'....
Or is it better to build out a fire place where long table is, add club chairs that swivel, thus bringing both sectionsmore together?

Lastly, what are thoughts of adding a sectional couch where turquoise chair/sofa is, then adding turquoise chair in front if windows.

move tv to wall with large photo - float the furniture in the room and start over

also a nice rug would help

in smaller space -- a nice conversation/reading nook would be great. a couple comfy chairs and a cool table

Lol it is actually quite a nice space you have there. I would Eliminate the tv from the room totally, but Lori's idea has merit. Not a fan of rugs to Trip over. Shutters are very nice. I find the black couch totally out of step with everything else. So not a lot of helpful,hints lol good luck

You didn't say budget... So consider knocking out the rest of the partial wall. Then you can put TV on the long wall between windows, right next to where it is. Sofa can now face the TV/ windows which is nicer than putting your back to the rest of the room. You could then put a desk on one side and a small seating area with accent chairs on the other.

I'm so in love with the picture of the boats, but the tele is so wrong up there in the corner. I like your furniture also and I think at least one big rug would help big time. Then you can work on furniture placement.

what a great space! i also agree with lori and would turn into 2 different spaces -- put tv on wall with photo and create conversation area (4 chairs around small round table would be nice) in other room. delineate spaces with 2 different area rugs, but keep color schemes similar to tie rooms together.
