If you start from seed to maturity 120 days is fast. 120 to 150 for main season. There is a web sight ( which I can't remember) that had these stats for most tomatoes. I'll try and find it, good web sight

My Lillian's Yellow Heirloom is mocking her DTM. She is supposed to be a late variety with average DTM of 90-100 days. I started seeds on Feb. 15th and planted out April 12th. She has a tomato an inch in diameter and lots of flowers!!! I should have my first ripe tomato end of May or early June! Never had a tomato that early!

Just use it as a general guide to compare one tomato to another. Since climates range from freezer to furnace, they need to stamp YMMV on every package in big red letters.

Well, if the tomato variety says it's early or late... ok. But I don't care about those numbers.

My DTM values are always accurate ... give or take four weeks.

The DTM or DTH (days to harvest) numbers are relative and are established under the most friendly growing conditions. Bonnie has a farm in south Alabama, eg, They base their DTM under the growing conditions down there. In my cool PNW, you have to add maybe 3 weeks to those numbers. But all in all a plant with DTM of 60 will give you ripe fruit 20 days earlier than the one with DTH of 85.

If you want to base on seeds germination, add 30 to 40 days to DTM numbers. So a DTM of 60 will be about 95 days from germination.

Last year my Black Krim took 105 days from plant out day. Like Sey says the PNW is WAY different.

I, too, have realized that here in the PNW, we have to add a lot of days onto a DTM date. Steve Solomon explains it very well in his book. I finally "got it" after I read it last year. I like the way Carolyn puts it in her book - early, mid, or late.
