Can you post a picture of the pendant you're considering please? The metal does not have to match so nickel would be fine, but the style needs to relate to the DR and kitchen.

I will warn you it wont give you much task lighting with the clear glass and edison style bulb. I dont like the black cord. and also think the clear glass will blend away while the cord will stick out.

Cool - Its really pretty, but its really shiny and light feeling. With your heavy DR chandelier maybe something a little more solid looking. How about something similar with mercury glass instead?

Great point! Thanks for your comments and suggestions (flair lighting and suzyq53) I didn't think about the glass kind of disappearing and the cord standing out. Actually I love the LBL pendants we have but trying to get away from the amber (yellow) color. Something similar would be great. Any suggestions?

I would check with Restoration Hardware for pendants which will better coordinate with your beautiful over the table chandelier. Your current pendants become overshadowed by the chandy.

What a lovely home! Although finishes do not need to match, I do think for your situation a darker finish over your island would provide much better flow and balance w/your beautiful darker island cabinet finish.

I think you could use larger scaled pendant and would recommend a chain or rod style over the black cord. I would also consider a non glass option w/down lighting for task lighting over your island. See the industrial pendant with crystals at shades of light as one option. There are multiple manufacturers of similar, however, the crystals give a fun unexpected bling.

Lovin the ones Flair Lighting shared with the greenish blue globes but in the bronze finish. I typically advocate for mixed finishes but in this senario I would stick with the bronze. The satin just disconnects from the dining room.
