@embothrium. Size is relative. I am accustomed to the Morton Arboretum and Chicago Botanic Garden so Anderson Gardens is smaller in comparison. But it's still an awesome facility without crowds and worth the visit!! Hope you are close enough to make the trip.

You can tell a lot about how a person thinks of gardens by what they take pictures of. You fall into the Landscape Architecture field.

When most people show pictures of their garden it's usually individual plants. They are attracted to plants as individuals,...like collectors. They usually don't look at the overall garden as a composition.

That said, you're probably wondering what my garden looks like. I can be labeled also. ;-) Note the lack of hardscapes, structures, street, and neighbors.

I'm glad you recognize it for what it is. Most people don't give natural rock work much thought. Most of that effort is in walls and terraces. Beyond that, rocks are usually place randomly about with no idea which is the top, back, sides, or bottom. Also they think of rocks as individuals, rather than a composed formation on a point like you would see in nature.

Thanks for the pictures of Anderson Gardens. I've done a bit of traveling and if I'm in the area I will be sure to see it.
