Hi Lori, Thanks for chiming in. Actually I think I have you to thank for my bedroom color Storm. I picked right after reading some of your posts about it being on this forum last year. Its a South facing so I'm probably lucky that it reads true without sampling it out. I've always had luck with colors my first pick is usually what I end up with from Chips and everyone including my extremely picky husband loves it. This living room is the first time in my life I'm having to paint swatches primarily because I'm venturing into light greys and after reading the forums here I was worried about how a light grey would read with a large northwest window. All day the color swatches look different on the 2 long walls adjacent to the window! Once my maple tree outside this window gets its leaves and the direct light gets a little filtered I think the blueness of my original picks bunny gray or Iced Cube Silver would be less obvious ( or so I tell myself, I'm so ready to just paint this space white!). I'm also 7 months pregnant which I think is affecting how confident I am in picks usually.

I kinda figured that the affinity collection was in random order but I also thought that maybe it would be close to Storm. Even though i grabbed all the lighter grey looking chips like Wish, Thunder or Metropolitan etc the one I liked the best was Eternity. But on the wall on large swatches it just looks..... drab. I've seen some gorgeous pics of metropolitan online but I know what I see online won't translate to my house.

I'm going to go read about the Affinity collection in your link now. Maybe feel better about picking a couple more colors to swatch today.

Is there any light/pale non-affinity colors you would consider truer greys that I could test swatch?

I'm sitting in my patchwork LR right now typing this. It looks really sad.

I should have included that all my trim including my fireplace mantle is going to be Chantilly lace. The accent wall that the fireplace in on faces the NorthWest window 20 feet away.

I have Eternity in my large bathroom and it is not drab at all, more bluish gray. It looks great with white trim and Carrera marble. Good luck!

I painted Eternity on a small shed outside to see if I like it as I am looking to have our house painted in a classy white that is not too stark. Also our roof is more on the brown side. I had read that Eternity goes well with blue and white accents and since we just put in new white windows I have to find a color that doesn't make the windows stick out like a sore thumb . Any suggestions?

Painted our bedroom eternity and at first I thought I made a huge error! It first appeared drab and cold. But as I put my furniture and bedding in, it has become this gorgeous soothing blue/grey. Haven't regretted the color at all!

Painted eternity in our bathroom we have white down as our trim colour...it’s way more blue than I had anticipated. Was planning on painting a second bathroom in the same colour but I don’t particularly love the colour with my cabinets and decor.

I too am having problems deciding on a gray, we are going into a modern condo, painting everything decorator white , I thought I should paint the bathrooms a pale gray , as the cabinets are dark gray! I do not want to make a mistake. Only 1 bathroom has a window! Any advice. Thank you

Check out Benjamin Moors ‘Paper White’ has blue-gray undertones. We used in our Master Bedroom
Also used Sherwin Williams’Big Chill’ in all three bathrooms- not too light or dark
Each bathroom has different natural light amounts - and one has a white vanity- the other two have gray vanities - a dark gray and a medium blue gray .
