Need help with area rug in living room

The sofa is tan, the walls are Sherwin Williams Kilim Beige and the two chairs are rust with tiny specks of gold in fabric.

Installing the furniture on the ceiling as opposed to the floor was a bold design move and a very modern approach.

(only kidding :) )

I would say since you have such a neutral space, it would be hard to go wrong with a rug. Just make sure that it has the neutrals in your room represented, and then maybe pull some of the brighter colors from the new rugs as accents to use around the room i.e. pillows, window treatments, etc.

Tie in the colors with sofa pillows. I would get rid of existing pillows and add :

Also your room looks a bit odd as you have the sofa against a divider wall. Can you move the sofa to a longer wall and add art work above? Hard to see what the layout of the room is.
