Dining Room Dilemma

We have a duplex townhome. The only room that is without a window is our dining room which is fairly generous in size. The entrance to this room is flanked by columns on each side giving the room some presence (not sure I like the columns though). We have since purchased a table that is 40 X 54 and can seat 6. We definitely need lighting that will brighten up the space and something on the wall. The opening to this room actually faces a hallway (so no outdoor light). Any ideas?

A large mirror would open up the space, especially when there are no windows in the room. Maybe adding a console table or server on one side with storage would look nice if you had the space. It would have to be pretty narrow in depth. But the color of the walls is nice with the accents of white. A larger chandelier would like great in there maybe with crystal to reflect light more.

Hi---pretty color palette. Second the idea of a console with either a mirror or large painting above it. Whichever you decide, place the other on the wall opposite so there is a nice view in the mirror... A light with some color-I recommend... Good Luck!

Bling with silver and ground with black. I don't know what your table looks like but personally think some black and silver will do much for your space. If the dining set is brown, and not black, I'd be up for painting the chair seats (and maybe table wood,) but know it is new so...

I love the lighting ideas. The table is brown, by the way. I have been considering a painted sideboard in yellow. I believe it is the Beaufort Sideboard by Somerst Bay. I do have some art that would reflect nicely in a mirror. That would work for both sides of the long dining room. Do you have any ideas for the long back wall?

Can you show us pictures of the entire room? Seems like you're getting natural light from the other side? Also, what size is room?

I would paint the wainscoting all white to begin, this will eliminate all that business going on .
Scones will help a lot with giving the extra light in the room and also the addition of a large mirror for reflection..

Seems like a good sized room. But saying that I would keep what your putting into it imited. I think a large mirror, the room would defo be able for it and shiny/mirrored furniture. Not only will the mirror reflect any light coming into the room but the shiny table in the picture will take away from the fact that theres no window and give the room some dept by placing it in front of the mirror
