Unfinished fireplace and alcove in Tahoe home

We ended up building in an alcove to the right of the fireplace but now I am not sure what to do with it. The house is modern rustic and I am considering incorporating sheet metal into the finished fireplace. Any creative ideas on the alcove or fireplace+alcove?
