A new individual of this cross has flowered for the first
time. This is just how I would normally expect
a cross between giraffe and jewel to look – bold giraffe colours and markings
with a double portion of petals.

At least I would have expected this if I hadn’t seen the
first one to open last year. This has
flowered again and looks the same as last year – a much more complex doubling
with pastel colours. Another example of
widely divergent offspring from the same parents.
