Ramapo and Celebrity have always done well for me, but they're hybrids (so I can't save the seeds). I really like the heirloom varieties. Cour di bui would be my choice if I could only pick one - flavor, acid/sweetness balance and texture to my liking, meatier than a slicing tomato, less so than a plum.

Yellow pear are always prolific and volunteering in my garden. Alone, they're not to my liking, but are a nice addition to a mixed tomato salad.

A summer like last year would be delightful. If it gets too hot, the tomatoes stop setting fruit anyway until it cools down a bit.

I haven't grown the Supersweet 100, but I've heard good things about it. I grow Ramapo every year. I love it! I grow it in a big pot. I'm sure I'd get more if in ground, but I am very happy with what I get. I also grow a hybrid patio cherry plant every year. It is very productive and delicious. I can't wait.

Black Krim does very well for me. Give it space, it starts slowly, then takes off.

Planted Mortgage Lifter, Black Krim and Supersweet 100 this weekend, trying to find a black cherry for the bed, its a 4x4 bed, each has its own 2x2 space and I have a patio tomato in a 5 gallon container. Fingers crossed this years crop is better than last years lol

Did Black Cherry, Amish Paste, and Dr Wyche last year. All grew excellent (in raised beds).

my supersweet100 was a favorite of the birds... within a week it had no leaves (sad). So I replaced it with a sun gold and a purple Cherokee... then found black cherry at lowes (but it was small)... but I already have 6 tomato plants...

Hi, I have been growing tomatoes for 50 years and tried many varieties. Some of my favorites are KBX,Kellogs Breakfast,Cherokee Chocolate,Gary O Sena,Pineapple,Virginia Sweets. These are all slicers. Cherries I love are Sun Gold,Black Cherry,Alston's Everlasting,Amy's Apricot.Heart shaped ones I like are Kosovo,Russian 117,and Aussie. Try some of these when you have the space and time. I think you will find them to be excellent. They are all in my garden again this year.

Also love snowberry, which are pale yellow cherry tomatoes. The most prolific I've ever grown were volunteers that grew from supermarket grape tomatoes I tossed in the compost. ;)

I've done well with Rutgers, Ramapo, and Sun Gold to name a few. Sweet 100 has also been good. I also grow Brandywine and Cherokee Purple with varying results (great flavor, but poor production).
