We might have some ideas if you can post a floor plan. Doesn't have to be fancy; just indicate dimensions and what openings are where.

Kitchen is 12x8. Entrance to kitchen is what you see in picture - on that right wall is 32" door to deck. On other long side of kitchen are windows above sink 5'10"l x 25" h with cupboards above. On the short wall opposite stove is a window 5'h x 26"w. Hope this helps! I've never seen a kitchen like ours that doesn't have the wall to take down to open it up but I'm sure something creative can be done.
