Are you open to changing the wall color to a neutral, perhaps in the cream or white family? That would really make the pretty teal color stand out.

I may, down the line, but I've been painting so much since we moved into the house almost three months ago, that I'm tired of painting!

I would paint them a light gray or light cream/butter color. Is the wall and carpet staying the same?

I agree a nice creamy color like the butter cookie above, if your going to keep your wall color what it is.

Or line them with a patterned shelving paper or wall paper that compliments the color of the piece to add drama.

Yes, the wall color and carpet are staying the same for now. The lighting in the room is not very good yet, both the paint and carpet are not as dark as they appear in the picture.

If I had this room I'd put a cozy chair, ottoman, superb reading light-and never come out!
