Kitchen Floor For Remodel

last modified: 11 years ago

We are remodeling our kitchen and planning to open up a wall to our dining room. The house has red oak hardwood floors including the dining but I'd really love to use a medium gray cork plank in the kitchen. There is a clear line which we could use to separate the two spaces but still not sure how I feel about plank hardwood with plank cork next to each other. We are planning on using medium dark stained butcher block on a large center island. Also not sure how I feel if we did hardwood in the kitchen with the butcher block. We are going for a modern transitional style using flat panel cabinets, stainless steel appliances, stained wood open shelving and stain nickle hardware. I could use some advice and if anyone has pictures showing an open kitchen to dining room with two types of flooring that would be super helpful.

Thanks!
