I'd clear the counter of the artificial flowers and the item on the right. I'd find a nicer soap dispenser too. A more colorful and interesting picture opposite the sink would be nice. I think the layout of your powder room is very similar to mine, and I know there's not much you can do to change it, unless you want to add wallpaper. I didn't want to do that. Sometimes simple and clean is best!

lower the painting behind the toilet, and soften everything up. its to harsh and bulky on the counter now. maybe paint the mirror frame a silver tone. and get silver soap pump.

You might add shelving over the commode ( not very exciting ..I know)
but then , for whimsy, you could have a leopard print toilet seat ( I'm sure your guests will notice !)

Thank you for your tips! So, silver is ok? For some reason because the vanity was brown,I thought I had to stick to those tones. I like all of your ideas, I agree sometimes simple and classy is best! That painting was there when we bought the place and I haven't trouble getting rid of it!

What about making the bathroom more elegant? Change out the bathroom picture (and hang at eye level). I like what miacomelately suggested. You COULD change out the drawer pulls for Crystal/glass ones. Eliminate all the clutter on the sink. Get rid of the wicker basket and put a few pretty towels and a decor item. You could also consider tiling the crack of the toilet with tile.

I would do a pop of color. There are so many fun colors.... Pick what you like, you can't go wrong!

Just start hunting at TJ Maxx etc ... something will pop out at you! If not, come back! I think you should pick something that pleases you. You room is pretty neutral.

I'm from Canada so my options are limited, but we do have a lot of home decor stores near by that I can check. These tips are so helpful! It's nice seeing things from someone else's point of view!

Hi there, I decided to bite the bullet and paint the entire powder room "sea salt" sherwin williams. I have always loved that color. I was wondering if you think it would be worth it to paint the vanity white, or do you think the dark brown will look OK against the paint color if I use crystal knobs, and bring in more silver/blingy accessories?

Do you have a picture? I plan on painting my bathroom the same color. I think your vanity is fine the way it is.

The dark brown will be just fine! Add the crystal knobs and the blingy accessories. Personally I think the white cabinet will not add to the "richness" you seem to be going for.

No photo yet, we'll be painting in the newer few weeks. Keeping the brown is easier and I think as long as I have nice accessories the brown will add nice contrast. I will put a picture when done!

I like the dark cabinet. What about WHITE TOWELS????? Get the accessories you were talking about and live with it- it will help you decide if you like it. Love the color

Yea I think white towels will be a good idea, will have a nice contrast. Or I might go with white but a pattern that would go nice with the sea salt

I have a vase with faux hydrangea, gold spare loo roll holder, 2 fashion magazine pages photos framed. and an Anthropology colourful rug in my guest tiny loo.

This is what I did to brighten a tiny bathroom.

I think I would lower that painting, but otherwise, it seems pleasant enough to me... A little rug, maybe?

The brown vanity and sea salt walls will look great together.
