Hi - I'm not sure if this is an appropriate post in this forum...if not, any suggestions for our situation would be appreciated. I know this will be blasphemous to some, but we have a xeriscaped front yard that we intend to scrape. I can't say for sure, but I think it was put in 2-3 years ago. We will pot up and/ or transplant only a few of the existing plants - we do not have interest in the others...thus the reason for my post.

Rather than send these other plans to the landfill, we'd like to give them away to anyone who might be interested in potting them up and taking them back home on the off chance they might survive. The disclaimer is that some of these may not take to transplanting (from what I'm told) or the timing is bad to give them the optimum chance of survival. So, it would be a gamble (and maybe even a long shot), but it is what it is.

We're in the Arvada, CO area. The plants to give away (some of them are in multiples) are: purple smoke tree, red leaf rose, arizona cypress, giant sacaton grass, lydia genista, dwarf rabbit bush, sunset hyssop, snow in summer, sandcherry, manzanita, red flowering yucca (although they look pretty bad right now).

I did briefly consider taking them to the swap, but to be honest, we are not gardeners and they will stand a better chance of surviving if the person potting them knows what they are doing.

If anyone has interest, please send me a message and I can send photos, answer questions or whatever. Or, if there are any better suggestions for finding interested parties OR if we're crazy to think that anyone would want to come take these plants and we shouldn't waste anymore time on it, please let me know that too.
