Yes, I should have added that it will be a Koi pond. I'll have a couple of lily's and some water iris as well. I'm running my pressurized filters behind the bamboo plants.

All done now! Added a sidecar flower bed (14" deep, made to look deeper). Total project start to finish took 2 weekends. 7 4x4, 8 2x4, 6 2x6, 40 6' Redwood Fence pieces, 1 15x15 liner, 1 20' section of 1" hose, pump, and bio filters. My father and law built the steel spillway for my older pond. I'd estimate the wood and materials at $550. If I had to buy the bio filters, that would add another ~$200.

Now that the pond is in and running, the insects are following! Took these on Saturday. Flying bees are hard to catch, and I'm out of practice. I'll just have to work harder it seems.

Wow, you did a great job on your pond/flowerbed and the pictures you took of your visitors are really nice. I love dragonflies, so I'd have to say that's my favorite pic, but the honey bee is also good! Love the dragonfly decoration hanging on your pond wall by the way...NICE!

Hope you post pictures of your Koi once you get them in their new home.

groundbeef1, I have seen your posts over the years and you had a beautiful pond and a hard work extension. Your current pond is very attractive as well in a new setting.

My question is how hard was it to sell your previous home with your pond on the property? This has been a subject of debate over the years here. I will be putting our house on the market soon and have a concern about the pond system presence. My pond is smallish--14x10, 2.5 deep, and has two 35-foot streams with a lot of water flowing, two external pumps. The steams are surrounded by very mature planted vegetation. All around 9 years old.

I know, people will like it or not. How did most potential buyers view yours?
