Rift & Quartered Oak will also be much more stable to resist cupping due to the Quarter Sawn cut pattern. It also have beautiful rays and flakes in it.

LOVE these floors and he space!! With dogs, would oak be OK or might cherry be a better option? I have two furry babies. ;) Thanks!

Thank you for the awesome compliment yazfletch! Generally speaking, white oak will be a harder wood than cherry, but when you are choosing wood, always make sure in checking the specific wood species in order to know how durable it will be.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your project!

White Oak is going to take a custom stain really well too. Using a matte or satin poly finish will also help to hide any dings or marks that any floor will eventually get.

I see this was noted as custom stain. Any further details on rand of stain and mixture? I want it

    D. Hastings,

Unfortunately, we do not have any of that information as the builder worked on the design of the flooring. Please feel free to contact the builder for more specific information.

    D. Hastings,

Thanks for asking! The wall color is Benjamin Moore Winds Breath and the ceiling color is Benjamin Moore White Dove, both having a Flat/Matte finish.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you. Your use of White Dove on Trim and Ceiling still shows a variation of color. is it due to the sheens?

Unfortunately, we do not have an exact answer for you. It could be because of the different finishes, different paint concentration levels, and it could also look that way because colors are not exact in a photo or on a computer screen.

    Hope this helps,

Do you know where the orb ceiling lights were purchased? I've not seen this style available anywhere. Thanks!
