All right then, I will go first. This is the second seedling plant that bloomed for me. Notice the black object with white spots in top left corner of photo. A butterfly happened along just as I snapped the first picture. It paused and spread its wings over the throat of the flower--but before I could snap another picture it flew away.

I was wondering when you were going to post your blooms! I absolutely love red blooms, and this one is very inspiring. This is still a seedling even! You have the right touch Kadie. The butterfly is a bonus! Never have seen one quite like that before.

Where are you hiding the rest of the blooms?

Sad to say . . . the numerous flower buds on several of my
young seedlings may not come into fruition in May. A super typhoon is headed our way and if the
forecast becomes reality, the buds will fall off, not to mention the possibility
of my babies being flung all over the island, as well as into the Pacific Ocean

Chris, this one was 9 months old when flower opened. It is day 10 now since opened, and the bloom has turned darker red, but still looks nice.

Elielielieli, I used Osmocote twice per year and miracle gro mix every few weeks. I took all my plants out for about 8 weeks now, but NEVER have to water them yet. Houston has rain almost everyday so WET WET....no mix fertilizer this year so far.

Eliana...pretty name. I had been using various ones at various stages of seedlings development (still experimenting). They are now at Miracle Grow stage.

Miracle Grow and Osmocote are brands I guess? I am not sure we have them here in Cyprus. I have recently got a 5-15-5 fertiliser for my plumerias. I am going to give it to an adenium and see what happens :)

Yes, they are brands. Osmocote is a pelleted slow release fertilizer, MG is water soluble. But brands aren't crucial, the important thing is ratios in NPK: 9-3-6, 15-9-12, or 24-8-16, are the popular recommended for adeniums, if I'm not mistaken. In other words, the P is lower than the N and K.

This is Irene, it looks very dark purple outside, but it is pink in these pictures. It is small but leggy. I am saving for scions for grafts later if we ever get more sunny days. So much rain in Houston this summer so far.

Alas, the flower buds are not going to open by the end of May. The typhoon weather conditions set back their blooming until next month. So ... if someone would start a June Blooms thread I will post the blossoms then.

Sorry to hear about your blooms. At least it is only a delay and not a cancellation. I will start the June thread even though I have no blooms to share. Marie has enough blooms to keep us going through July so there shall be no bloom shortage here!

Kadie, most of my blooms got rot and felt off in the last 3 weeks due to rain. Houston had more rain this year. Rain almost everyday and will be in the next few weeks. I am afraid for my adenium....they are very wet...

Oh no! Your beautiful flowers, Marie! I feel bad; here I am complaining when it doesn't rain, then cringing when it rains two days in a row. Such is life ... as they say. Surely there's something that can be done to rescue your flowers?
