1 x 1 clusters of a green melange were turned on the diagonal and form the center row. 2 x 2 tiles in our field color were arranged on a diagonal in a row above and below the color tiles. 2 x 2s were cut across the diagonal to make triangular shapes and then filled in above and below. This created a straight edge so that we could run a row of 2 x 2s straight across the top and bottom. A coordinating crown mold was used at the top.
