Would you stand at the back door and take a picture down the hallway, please?

Hard to judge with the two provided and the fact the pictures are sideways.

I would like a better photo , the picture is very limited and space is not appreciated .

It looks like you have two cute dogs who would really appreciate having rugs on the slippery wood floor. Can you provide measurements of the hallways & rough drawings w/ the measurements? It is difficult to give an informed opinion w/o all the facts. Thank you. I love the doggies.

Mr. want different rugs for different areas. SOFT rugs. That coordinate. Rugs that clash make his eyes hurt. Honest, that's what he told me.

I agree and pictures too dark. I will retake…….I'm thinking I need a runner in 9 ft long hallway to study and not a runner in the hallway that goes into kitchen. I was using a long runner from previous house there and now I see that I really should not have a runner going through kitchen. And I need a low pile rug for the front of the door going outside in the back. and yes my doggies are cute!!! Always right with me…That was cute how you put a rug underneath Billy Bob :-)

take into consideration how you feel about cleaning that floor. if the dog/people bring in debris from the yard i say consider a full length rug for the whole distance in from that back door. there is a site you could access that provides rugs by the foot. i would also go busy on the pattern as that tends to hide debris/stains better. be sure to use some sort of padding as it makes the whole rug look better and last longer

My current experience with putting rugs on wood floors? Put the best non-slip pads under them you can afford! ( Esp. with dogs! Straightening out rugs ad nauseum WILL turn into a pain. They'll also add cushioning so the rugs 'feel' softer. ) Continuous runners make for the easiest maintenance. Place small area rugs at door ways to reduce wear & tear on the runners. ( Yes - it IS OK to layer them over the runners! ) Don't feel confined to using just one pattern for separate rugs. Incorporate a primary color instead.

In hallways, the length is optional. Try to
place a runner rug so it does not end in the middle of a doorway. In a very
long hall, several small runners can work. They do not have to match but the
colors should coordinate. Leave
about 18 to 36 inches between the rug and the wall creates an eye pleasing
border. In hallways and entryways, be sure to measure door heights to allow
doors to easily pass over the rug if the door will open on the face of the rug.

You already noticed my main comment - no rug in the dining area/on way to the kitchen! Should be one runner in hall from back door and one color coordinating rug in side hall (or exact match, it's up to you).

Most carpet stores can create a custom runner in any length, in any configuration, with bound edges, from any carpet you like. My MIL had one made for a split level that went up stairs, turned at a landing, up more stairs, jogged over 3 feet and went down a hallway. Hers was attached to the hardwoods, not just sitting on the so it wasn't moveable.

ok….so its alright to have a hall rug run from the small hallway that starts from laundry area through the kitchen to back door? or have 2 of the same runners? yes a pad because the dogs have a tendency of moving them…Im tired of seeing their little paw prints on the wood floors from coming in from the outside - I'm not cleaning floors every time they come in.
