Is your quartz being fully fabricated off-site (including the sink and cooktop cutouts)? If so, I'd start moving back in right now.

Yeah, go ahead and let yourself have some fun! The upper cabinets especially as they won't be the lightest bit impacted by the counter install.

I went ahead and loaded my cabinets minus all top drawers

I started putting things away immediately. It took a few tries to get things in exactly the right location, and adjust shelves to exactly the right height. Even though I had laid out where everything would go, and I was really excited about/looking forward to putting things away, it was a big job. The sooner you get started, the better!

I moved in before Quartz install except for the sink cabinet. I did figure out my cooktop drawers but I think I removed the items for the install. I took items out of my top drawers - but wasn't really necessary.

My quartz ended up being delayed to an accident in the truck on the way to my house - I was so frustrated and KD and GC said go ahead and put things back. Even though I planned locations and was pretty close, I made a few modifications on shelf heights and what went into the drawers - the biggest issue was no first drawer under my cooktop - so had to figure where to put the implements. It actually worked out fine.
