It's already time to start!!

I always think of late summer and fall as seed saving time. But, I was out in my garden admiring the beautiful spring ephemerals, and saw a seed pod already formed on my winter aconite. It is still green, but I can see the bulge of seeds forming inside. So, I need to keep my eyes peeled for ripening seeds on my Virginia Blue Bells, Trillium, Snow Drops, etc. I have Money Plant blooming and Jacob's Ladder, too.

So, we all need to get out there and start collecting those seeds. It's a great addiction to have.

I know... my kale that I overwintered last year is just now either in full bloom or starting to turn to seed heads. And now I'm looking at them every day to see if I need to tend those seeds or not.

Money plant, when is best time to gather seeds? Do they have to dry on the plant or can they be picked "green". Thanks

My Jack in the pulpit plant finally has a single bloom after waiting for two years, basket of gold alyssum is nearly done blooming, overwintered kohlrabi is flowering, the radishes I replanted are blooming, and the beets I replanted are starting to send up flower stalks. Can't wait.
