Whether you go to retailers like Target, WalMart, Pier 1 Imports, or sometimes even Nebraska Furniture Mart, real leather will be hard to find especially at Target. Bonded leather IS made from real leather- but won't last or age (develop patina) like actual leather...

If you want real leather sofa, I would really recommend talking to an interior designer or custom furniture seller in your area. You might think that will be more expensive, but in the long run with their expert knowledge and resources that you won't have access to, you really do get a quality piece of furniture that will last you a long time.

If you still want to just shop at a retail store open to public, start by thoroughly searching through furniture specific stores, not Target.
