Timeframe for estimates

I have had four contractors come in to give me estimates in my kitchen remodel. It has been almost two weeks and I haven't heard back from any of them. What is a reasonable time to expect a bid? I feel like if I have to track them down now, what will it be like during the job?

I would be calling them. I seemed to get my 2 quotes within a week to week and a half.

Could be any reason that one or two failed to follow up, but all 4? Do you have a set of uniform design specs that you are handing to each of them askng to be quoted? Or just some vague ''how much is a car?'' type of quote requested? Where did you find them? Are they licensed and insured contractors or ''handymen''? What is your budget for your listed scope of work? Champagne taste and generic beer budget? Perhaps they judged your expectations unrealistic and are declining to bid.

I don't have a written set of specs I am handing them, but I have a plan and I have gone through the consyructio work that needs to be done with each of them. One contacted me and told me I would have a quote by 5/15 which would be two weeks. Maybe I am being too impatient and I will hear within the week.
