Be worth a try. In theory it should work but not sure for how much longer. I've never tried it as we eat it up so fast. We store it wrapped in wet paper towels in in zip lock bag and it keeps that way for a couple of weeks if necessary.

I'd given up freezing asparagus until a friend told me this technique:

Cut spears into I inch lengths. Blanch about 2 minutes (I count from the time I put it in the water, not from the time it starts boiling). Chill in ice water. Dry. Spread in shallow pan and freeze. When frozen, put into freezer bags. Best way to cook frozen product is in oven.

This is a very acceptable product. Though not quite as good as fresh, it's waaay better than the standard technique.

Really, I just put it in a casserole dish, put butter on it and roast it until it gets hot. I think you could sauté the frozen pieces in a frying pan too.
