such a long time ago, but is shellstone same as artistic pavers? how did yours turnout?

Artistic Pavers makes a few different pavers. I used their Shellock pavers around our pool and lanai. Very happy with them. Friends had used them in their previous house and their new house and had also been happy with them. You see the Shellock pavers used in many large hotel pools, sidewalks, etc, so you know they will be durable.

I believe Shellstone is a natural product cut into pavers/tiles, similar to Travertine.

Donna - Yes, Shell stone is basically limestone (sedimentary stone) with shell pieces and travertine also a natural stone. It is not uncommon for natural stone to have long term problems when around a saltwater pool. Not always, but I would suggest considering something besides natural stone around a salt water pool. If used around the pool, then I would recommend staying on top of a regular sealing schedule which adds to the maintenance cost of the decking.

I too have a salt water pool that needs rebuilding/redecking. Replacing all the pipes, etc. Looking for decking material that is not slippery and is cool for dog paws and old lady feet :) . So confused after reading all the articles. Help! What did you pick?? I would've loved plain old brushed concrete but no one will guarantee it for more than a year from cracking. We are on the water in MD and have intense sun all day. Brackish water close by so a bit of salt in the air. Heavy winds and rains. Small deck area that we are not allowed to make bigger due to critical area restrictions. Any suggestions for what to use for decking would be hugely appreciated
