Does it only bloom once in the spring or does it rebloom during the season?

I've only seen it ever bloom once in the spring, it always greens out and the canes grow up the window but that's it.

Looks like Dr. Huey. It's likely that another rose was once grafted onto it but that rose has since died and the Dr. took over.

I think I have several like this that are climbers and get extremely long canes. It only blooms once and isn't very spectacular. Just kind of meh. Is Dr. Huey good to keep around or should this root stock be dug up and replaced with something that blooms more. The climbers I have are a red or dark pink and bloom on old wood. Do you all keep your Dr. Hueys if the grafted rose part of a plant dies?

I think it really depends on your personal preference. We had a Dr. Huey for a long time. It is pretty when it blooms (though the bloom period is fleeting) and it really filled in and stayed lush and green for the rest of the season. Then about 3 or 4 years ago it got hit hard with black spot and completely defoliated. It took a year or two to rebound. Then last fall I decided to dig it up and replace it with a DA fragrant repeat bloomer, mainly because it was in a prominent focal point in the garden and I wanted something more aesthetically pleasing. But if it had been someplace less obvious I probably would have kept it.
