I'm still waiting to find out what my yield will be BUT I can give you a bit of advice on getting more to pop up -- soak your bush bean seeds for two hours in a little cup of water (fully covering them with cool water) and then plant them (go straight from letting them soak to being in the ground). I did that with my blue lakes, my lima beans, and my scarlet runner beans as per suggestion on the seed packets from Baker Creek and out of all of the beans I planted (97 total) only ONE did not sprout!

I think yield is an average per row, rather than specific to each plant. But it can be easy enough to figure out yield for row converted to sqf.

Whatever is in the row, figure out how many plants are per row. For example, if a 10 foot row with the beans spaced three inches apart, or 4 plants per foot of row, spacing means 40 plants in the row. It shouldn't matter if you are planting in "mini-rows" of just a few beans per sqf, or one single long row. The amount of plants ends up being the same.

I find that 9 plants per square foot typically yields about a weeks worth of beans for two folks. Basically a decent bowl full.

planterjeff -- do you mean they yield one serving each for two people once a week? Or do you mean a daily serving for two?

I meant i get about a handfull a day for about 5 days or so. it would make two small servings per day I guess.
