I am such a tightwad! Probably got this for 50 cents at a garage sale last year (and the leak is likely why!!) but would rather try to patch the 1 1/4" hairline crack at the base than consign it to the landfill. I tried patching it last year (see white spot) with some goop or other I found in the workshop but it didn't last and actually the crack is a little longer this spring. (So maybe the patch DID work but the new crack leaks...)

Anything I might have around the house (and we have a WIDE assortment of stuff!) I could use? I will not purchase anything since anything at the store would cost more than the can is worth... :-) Suggestions? Thanks in advance! CK
