Can you sit it in an existing flower bed so you don't have to trim around it? Maybe some morning glories planted around the base to climb up it? Look on pinterest.com - just enter "windmill garden" in the search box and see what comes up.

My best existing flower bed is narrow and too close to low hanging trees, so that won't work. Will check the Pinterest sites. Thanks!

If you put a vine at the base, it will go to the top and prevent the blades from turning. I have to anchor mine down due to being in hurricane paths. Do put it where you can see it from inside.

I inherited one from my parents. I put it in an existing bed and it worked out beautifully and I had to anchor it. Where ever you are able to place it probably anchoring it should be done
