In need of a new exterior

Would like to add a master bed/bath, and transform the exterior. Would it be best to contact an architect or consult with a home builder first. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I would highly recommend working with a professional who can develop a concept based on the contextual understanding of your site. Local home builder, architect or contractor

What you are doing is a major remodel and addition. A remodeling/addition contractor would have access to architects and designers. So I'd get bids from contractors, and see where that leads you.
