Can you paint it a shade of the blue/gray from the flooring? Then add some yellow accents like a waste basket for some warmth so it doesn't seem so cold. Hang some interesting pictures too.

Run with the bright white walls, but put up a very colorful piece of artwork where you first walk in (that wall straight ahead), add a bright rug, coordinating towels, and fun sink top accessories.

Replace the garbage can with a red or chartreuse colored one. Add matching towels in red or chartreuse. Find a colorful wall canvas with those colors maybe some orange in it. That will sure brighten up the small space

Very first step: close the toilet seat. Then make everything bright white and spotless; if you can do the floor too, it would be great. I would paint out the pipes (you'll never disguise them) in a bright color to go with whatever coordinating accessories you choose. Love the first pic from Lillian's Paintbrush; would look great on the wall.

I would start by putting a bright colorful sheer curtain over the window to bring your eye up. Next I would either move the TP holder to the other wall or get a free standing holder for placement near the other wall, again to trick the eyes. I would then put a decorative narrow cabinet in front of the pipes where the TP holder and other items are to store those items and to hide the pipes. If you don't plan to use the shower I would remove the chrome towel bar from the wall and put up a big piece of art or a grouping of art. Using a uniform color such as a bright blue/green would brighten up the space. I would leave the walls and pipes white.

If you have more time and money I would replace the floor tiles with porcelain wood tiles. These tiles look like wood flooring and would really warm up the space.

Try to avoid re-tiling, and paint to compliment the tiles. I suggest repainting the big brick wall in a cooler white to compliment the tile (ie, more blue/grey pigment in the white)--easy since one coat will probably do the trick (wash the walls first). Maybe paint the wall behind the toilet an accent color: dark grey to compliment the grout would be my choice. I agree with groveraxel--paint out the pipes and window frame in a bright color--maybe bright red or orange? Then hang a bright picture like Lillian suggests, and coordinate hand towel and shower mat to match. Good luck!

oh, and if practical, a smaller trash bin placed in front of the pipes will hide the awkward flooring around the pipe's base. But do be sure the bin has a cover, no one wants to look into a trash bin while they are doing their business.

or if the companies cultures are more relaxed, you could hire an art student to graffito the entire brick wall. That would be pretty cool.

Pain the ceiling white (like it isn't already!) then if the ceiling is high start on thee 4th row of bricks and paint the walls bright orange (the energizing color.) If the shower isn't used paint the glass on the inside with the same paint! Be sure to remove the towel bar before painting; an office should use paper towels. Paint the vanity dark gray.

You could use the window frame like a picture frame. Use the left over vanity paint to paint it out, but to keep it from looking too matchy, matchy with the vanity add a little black to the paint and give it a good stir. Buy a long poster. All posters has several botanicals that would fit the bill/ To 'frame' it in the window cut it to fit first, then 'paint' the glass with Elmore's glue and stick the poster to it. Easy peasy.


Don't like this idea? Try painting the walls and ceiling a soft gray, the vanity black and adding a couple of shelves to the long wall and prop pictures, framed in black, on them.

Either way it will be a good looking room.

U're right... Its really disgusting!!! If I were u, i would not change the style of it... To be more clear, i like the idea of rural bathroom, rural wall and window... The only thing that i would change are the hidro equipments (wc, sink....etc) and the pavement. Then find a good painter to draw on the walls( only with a black tush) and buy some natyral flowers to make it more alive... Thats all!!!

I would suggest a light gray for the walls. If you don't want to replace the floor tiles, regrouting with a lighter grout would brighten it up. I would also suggest painting the sink cabinet a darker gray and replacing the mirror with a framed mirror in silver or black to spruce it up a little bit. And since it is a small space, you can add some bold wall art as well to have some fun.

I hate to be a fly in the ointment, as this is a great design discussion, but an office is a public use occupancy in any US code. Changes in a public use occupancy fall under completely different codes than residential, and as the business owner making the changes you become liable for them.

For this reason, many municipalities will require the services of a licensed design professional to make any changes, even apparently cosmetic ones, in the interest of protection of the health safety and welfare of the public. For instance, the slip resistance of the floor tile is a code governed safety concern that if done wrong can not just expose you to liability, but actually seriously hurt someone. And that's not even getting into ADA requirements to upgrade accessibility of the space based on how much you spend on all the upgrades you do. Spend $2K to upgrade tiles, and it will trigger hundreds of dollars required to be spent on ADA upgrades. Change that sink, or faucet or vanity or even TP holder location, and it must comply with ADA. There actually is a tort lobby out there that looks for ADA non-compliance in businesses ripe for a lawsuit.

By all means come here for inspiration, but do yourself and your business a big favor and hire a local licensed design professional to help guide you through this. The Houzz "Find a Pro" feature is a great tool for that.

Paint the bathroom in a very soft grey (with blue undertones). Paint around window and any trims white. Add an indoor plant in the corner (where bin is) and artwork on the wall. Towel rail is too high, so I would take it off the wall. A nice towel over the handle of the shower will do for a office bathroom. For the window I would buy a piece of stain glass firm (a sticker you attached to your window and it looks like stained glass).

As long as the toilet and sink are functional. the computer geeks don't care about the aesthetics. They just want to get in, get out, and back to finding the annoying bug that is crashing their program. Hang a bunch of infographic posters of the evolution of computers, tablets, computer languages, etc. It will be a hit. Click here for examples

I second the graffiti idea. The room is as old school urban as it gets. Embrace it! I visualize 1975 NY subway. Or maybe some 1990 Tokyo anime. It could be SO cool.

Painting the walls black and getting a couple vintage posters framed would be my idea for this space .
