Finished weeding & 'sifting' garden by deck. Transplanted 4 daylilies. Hope to finally get marigolds planted.

I had an urge to make lotto blocks, so I worked on them until about 1:00 this morning. I have the whole year's worth finished but for one month. They were fun. Thanks again to Linda and Sue for coordinating the lotto.

I picked out my new car this morning. I wasn't in the market until last Sunday when a young man ran a red light and I plowed into him. My car was totaled. It was only 2 years old with 18,800 miles on it. I loved that little Buick Encore, so I went out and chose another one. This time I actually found the color I had wanted in 2013 but was unable to find - Cocoa Silver Metallic. Luckily, everyone involved in the accident was unhurt. As they say, these days cars are built to sacrifice their lives for yours.

I hope to glue baste another quilt this weekend and get some more flowers planted if the weather holds out. I hope everyone has a wonderful, and safe, holiday weekend.

I finally put some blocks together I had made about 5 years ago and completed a top. I had forgotten the name of them and how they were supposed to go together, so I just sashed them with a black cornerstone and put a border on it. By the time I finished, I remembered. LOL The pattern doesn't show it being sashed, but I like it and wanted to get them together. Oh well........ Tomorrow, I hope to get some fabric washed to start DD's 50th BD quilt and finish up the last Zelda block. I've also started something else but not sure how it's going to pan out. :-)

Our holiday, Victoria Day, was last weekend. And the weather co-operated for all the planned civic activities.

No quilting here, trying to get as much gardening in as I can.

I have worked all morning in the quilting room. I pieced a baby quilt for my boss, who has a little girl on the way. I also got it on the frame and partially quilted so far. I added borders to my cousin's Wild Child quilt. She doesn't know how to do that yet, so I did it while she was at work today. My husband had all of his upper teeth pulled yesterday, so I did soft food for lunch and dinner today. He has a gum disease that has finally gone as far as it can go. So dentures it is. I am also working on the 4 patches for a bricks and stepping stones quilt as a leader ender project.

I will be going to Dallas on June 1 for work, so I will be getting some handwork together for that. I also have to go to Atlanta the week after that, but I will probably take a machine since I will drive for that one. I can get a lot done in the hotel in the evenings.

I also went to 'hell' this morning. That is what I call Walmart. They are the only ones around here that carry the frozen dinners that my husband likes to take to work. I was a little later than usual getting there, so I had to fight the rude people who stood in the middle of the aisles and talked to their long lost friends. I tried to talk this elderly lady on an electric scooter into running over them but she was nicer than me. :)

We have had the end of a busy week also! DH & I worked at a pancake breakfast with our Lions club this morning, then he drove our Moms to Denver to the airport. They have been with us since May 6 and it has been non-stop go, gol go! While he took them, I cleaned house and cooked for our church group that is coming to our house tonight for potluck and games! Tomorrow we have to pick up our son's dog and babysit her until Tuesday since they are out of town at a wedding. They leave next week for the UK. He will be there 6 months & our DIL 2 months, so we will have their dog for the summer. UGGGHHH!

It has been raining in Colorado - 21 of the last 23 days it has rained and the forecast is for more rain so tomorrow I hope I can get some sewing done. Nothing picked out to sew yet, but may try to sandwich and quilt one of my UFOs.

Well, I have ball games going on all around me so that puts me in a chair now and then with my Hawaiian applique blocks in my lap. Starting #4 but #3 isn't finished yet. Sure wish we had some of your rain, Sue.

I'm so glad you weren't hurt, Lois. I'm also glad you get a car out of the deal.

I am painting the pergola over the back patio as my son is coming Tuesday to roof it with lattice. I do that in spurts still hoping to wake up and find the painting fairy has come finished it but so far no luck. Might be done tomorrow. Staying off the highways as much as possible and there's little chance we'll run out of food or drink.

Well it's the last day of the long weekend...and I only have the hand stitching of the binding of my garden gate or garden fence or garden sumthing quilt to do and another is Finished....!

Much time has been spent in the yard...lovely weather for a change and I couldn't resist being outside.

Lois...glad all is ok...sounds like a horrible accident, but at least it's not you who was hurt...that Buick was built to protect.

Jackie...LOL...that's exactly how I feel about Walmart (WM) and unless I'm desperate...I avoid the place like the plague. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your viewpoint, WM is less than 1/2 mile away. At least I'm in a wooded community and we can't see or here it! Like you it's not so much WM, it's everybody chatting in the aisles....too funny.

Not quilting, but sewing. :) Saturday I made a pull-on skirt in a dark green print. Today I'm going to make a second one from a different pattern in a floral print. After that I need to make labels for the two quilts I just finished.

Saturday we went to our friends' house for dinner and Mexican Train. Yesterday was church in the a.m. and housecleaning in the p.m. I did some hand applique last night.
