I can easily see this charming house without any shutters. However take a peak behind one to make sure that the cedar hasn't bleached out and it is darker under shutters. Then you have opened a can of worms. If you keep shutters, how about a color a bit darker than the door color you like so much?

Ideally, the shutters should be the same color as the roof. Since your roof appears to be a very light grey, I would suggest you go with that color.

Really? I never heard that about shutters being same color as roof. But I certainly do NOT claim to be an expert. Interested, though.

Yeah... I'm thinking back if I ever saw a house with shutters that match the roof, and only can come up with a black roof and black shutters... Moving on!

I would remove shutters altogether. Your house is so cozy and the shutters give it a choppy look. Leave your door red if you love it and take off shutters.

I thought so, roof streaks. If your in a cold, snow country go black or dark gray. A contractor told me.
