Exterior advice needed!

We just bought this house. The gray siding and paint and roof are new, so those stay for now. Not sure what style of house this is, but we love the craftsman style, would like to build on that. I was thinking that doing something with the front door and shutters right now would help. Also the landscaping feels a bit too uptight. Your advice is appreciated!!
