Scenties are semi-edible. They won't kill you, but the leaves themselves aren't pleasant in texture or taste straight. However, they can be used to scent/flavor things. Personally, I have "attar of roses" and "lemon fizz" varieties. I use them to infuse simple syrup (1:1) which I use in drinks such as lemonade. I have also used the infusions in jams or sorbets, or to infuse scent into sugar.

I am not aware of any Scenties that are inedible--just some that aren't as pleasing, like Citronella. But I don't think citronella smells like lemon either, so you've prob got a diff one. My lem fizz has different leaf characteristics, but I used to have a lemon rose that looked like this. But there are oodles of scents.
