In really hot weather, dill will bolt. Regular prunung can help, but, overall, it prefers cooler temperatrures.

I successfully grow a lot of herbs and dill is the one that is finicky for me. Agree that it bolts when the weather warms up.

I found just one spot in a raised stone bed that it likes which is well drained and gets some shade. I also have better luck with growing it from seed rather than buying plants.

I buy several packages of dill seeds and sow some every 2 weeks or so from spring to fall. I also let it bolt at the end of the season. I find self-sown plants in early spring.
