The brick looks good; I wouldn't even think of changing the color. Just replace the current siding with something similar since what you have looks good now. Remove the shutters while you're at it.

I agree with another poster that you add wider window trim and paint it white. If you are set on changing the siding, I would suggest white or off-white to brighten everything. If you keep the shutters, the dark brown probably will look great with white siding. However, shutters in a light brown, toffee, or tea stain shade found in the brick still would look nice with the brown roof. I do believe some white-painted flower boxes under the windows will add a lot to the décor. The shrubs look a bit overgrown and dated, and you might consider replacing them with different kinds of foundation plants, such as evergreen rhododendrons and variegated shrubs such as euonymous and weigela (cardinal shrub).
