If, as you mentioned, time is an issue with your operation then forget the support for peppers. Ive never used support for outside peppers and don't foresee a need for 30+ varieties that I grow. Utilize time and resources in aspects of the operation where the return is justified.

I wish I could not support them Barrie, but I have tried that and it didn't work storms blow through with 60+ mph winds and they are broke off. I have tried it before and lost a bunch. As far as time, I am swimming. We are flooding wet and I can't get anything planted, anything dug, anything weeded (except by hand), I just started several 1,000 cucs, zucs, and melons to transplant out in a few weeks (if it stops raining). I have direct seeded them already this spring and with the cool soil and rain, they have rotted and not come up. The trellis would keep my time occupied at this point.

I've had winds too but just don't consider field trelising of peppers (or eggplant) to be feasible. This is a view of my 2014 peppers:

Looks nice, I am a much smaller producer than you, so I may just go back and do my string supports. Put in a post every 15 feet or so and then just run a string line on each side. Maybe do it once or twice and call it good.

Since Tuesday morning, we have had over 4 inches of rain on top of very saturated soil. More rain is coming tonight.

I went ahead and put up a horizontal trellis yesterday. I want to add a few more posts to stretch the trellis material.
