So after a year of growth my new Japanese boxwood have started to succumb to blight. This came on pretty sudden. However where I live (Georgia near Atlanta) we had a bit of a late frost. If I remember right this was back in April. It really wasnt snow but it was a weekend where the tempature dipped down into the 20s when it really wasnt supposed to.

This left the boxwood with a few parts that died and browned. That was unfortunate but there was growth after that and i didnt think anything of it. Aesthetically the boxwoods still looked nice.

Well about a week or two ago i was out on my porch and noticed something strange. An abundance of leaves from each of my boxwoods now laying on the grown. Now my initial thought was sort of 'o that must be its process for allowing new growth'. I was being optimistic because i actually saw on the tips of the branches new growth beginning to develop. However now I know its blight. The leaves have fallen and the branches are browning.

After reading some articles I know there is nothing to do once blight starts other than removing the plants. So I wanted to know if anyone had any opinions on better privacy hedges for a porch area that arent as susceptible to disease.
