With that pattern, it is done correctly. You could take off the bottom if you don't like it.

It looks beautifully done. What is probably bothering you is the "change of direction" in the pattern. Often time, people aren't aware of what is bothering them. I would guess the change of direction in the pattern is the "bother".

You could remove the bottom step (leave the landing alone)...but you don't have a floor to match it to at the bottom...sigh. If you had hardwood or laminate or something, you could work the last stair to match that floor. But you have concrete. If you remove the carpet you could paint out the tread as white and be done with it. It would look OK, but it may look more disjointed than what you already have.

Personally I would live with it for a while to see if you can ignore the direction change. You can always change it later.

If and when you do remove it, consider painting at least the landing and perhaps the other stair a solid color that is one of the grey colors in the runner. In the alternative, and my personal preference, I'd suggest you consider cutting and disconnecting the part of the runner on the landing and then put back most of it centered and in the shape of a square and not touching either step.

The runner appears to be installed correctly. This change of direction is normal with textiles when turning directions. Sometimes like with pre made decorative runners a miter seam is done on the landing. Personally I am not a big fan but at times it's necessary. And the pattern never 100% matches when this happens because it's mathematically impossible but it appears to look aligned and flow and that's all that really matters.

I will offer a compromise....
First of all I'm assuming this is broadloom carpet cut to size and not pre-made from the factory:
You could have the landing, 2 risers, and 1 step removed and re fabricated to be continuous in the same direction if it bothers you that much. It should be at your expense of course for material and labor however if it bothers you that much you could have them do it. The bottom landing nosing, risers and 1 step would technically not be installed the correct way but for this small area, small amount of foot traffic, and the boldness of colors I think it would look better and the landing would flow and be connected to the bottom step which I think would look nicer.
