With bright white trim on everything which is paintable..BM Super white is my choice. Floor lamps in corners of the room will add good lighting at night. I like black shades with a dark lining...that way light goes up and it goes down.

If the log home is already built, you can paint partition walls, allowing the natural beauty of the solid log exterior walls compliment the painted color of the partition walls! If you're contemplating the question before it's built, choose drywall for the partition walls so you can paint them the color of your choice, stencil, or wallpaper them. It will create a very nice contrast to the natural color of the wood logs! Don't stain the interior of the wood logs. (Especially don't apply a dark stain! Yikes!) Simply apply coats of high quality clear urethane for wood and they will take on a beautiful hue of their own through time.
