Sonoma Halo and Pastelegance, they were $350 and $300 respectively. Saw both at the APG convention 2014 and had to have them. Both have buds that look like they're going to make it this year! I also have Lemon Chiffon and Watermelon Wine, both were $150 when I bought them. Lemon Chiffon has 1 bud this year, plant looks pretty sad after all of the rain and hail we've had but I think the bloom will make it. Watermelon Wine seems to be one of the latest bloomers, just getting to the stage to see buds soon.

The most expensive peonies I heard are: Sonoma Halo $350, Pastelegance $300, Pastelorama $250, Lemon Chiffon $160, Love Affair, $160.

I saw some one bought "Love Affair", I don't think it is worth the money, the photos of the flower looks pale, not pure white, not double. I actually don't like white Itoh.

I'll post pics if they make it to bloom, with all of the rain we're having I'm not sur they will. Past elegance was starting tomopen yesterday but we have crazy rain today

I have Sonoma Halo, Pastelegance, Lemon Chiffon and Love Affair. Watermelon Wine and Impossible Dream were right up there, too. All except Love Affair have buds this spring. Here's my waterlogged and hail damaged Pastelegance. I probably should've given it some weather protection, huh?

This is very interesting. I have in my yard some CHEAP peonies from 48 years ago. Godaisho, Taiyo, High Noon, and a 2 colored purple I have lost the name on. They came from K-Mart for a $1.69 apiece. Gunpoden for $50, Kamada Fugi for $75, and Bartzella for $80.

If you have tree peonies that have been in place for 48 years then you certainly have the rarest, most precious peonies of the lot! Those must be amazing! That's much more impressive than just plopping down money for some high demand roots. I hope you'll post some pictures of your tree peonies, I bet they're gorgeous.

flowergirl would love to see photos of your peonies! I can't imagine what my garden will look like in 45 years but I hope we are still living here to see it!
