In the picture, your cabinets look almost black. I think a light gray subway glass tile would look nice with your granite. What color are your floors?

Thanks for the tip. The floor is light brown maple wood. You can see it with the cabinet photo. I was thinking about a stainless steel backsplash. Too much?

I have almost the same granite and have a subway tile backsplash and a stainless steel panel just behind the cooktop. Kitchen messy - will post a pic soon. Our granite is the star too.

I have something similar called Suturina Gold. I used cream subway tiles. I do think a glass subway tile would look great too.

Have you though about bringing the granite up the wall as well?

I Would take the opportunity to introduce something lighter than stainless. A glass or ceramic tile in a light color pulled from the granite would be my choice.

A matte cream or camel ceramic subway tile would really make your granite pop. Like a creamy white tinted the same color as your floor. Matte is key as it would be quiet and really put your glinty granite and stainless on show!

Yeah, we shopped around a lot until we found big slabs that were more reasonably priced. If that's not an option for you, I would definitely do a cream subway tile and not stainless. Stainless would look too modern I think. It might clash with your choice of granite and they'd fight for the spotlight. Let your sink and maybe appliances be the only stainless so that it acts as more of an accent.

Thanks. I see how the stainless could pull focus from the granite. FYI, my sink is porcelain thunder gray. Maybe I should wait until it's installed and try to match.

Gray is a great option for your backsplash. Stainless steel tile is not the easiest to care for. Subway tile in your Kitchen works really well.

you can definitely wait and see everything else first. The backsplash is always added at the end anyway

Here are some pics. We kept the backsplash and cabinets so they would be a backdrop for the granite. And brought color with an island - we painted it green and did a wood countertop for that.
The stainless steel backsplash is surprisingly easy to keep clean. I guess the fingerprints are what make SS seem messy.

I thought I would post an update. I went with metallic champagne-colored tiles and I love them. I appreciate all the advice. I think these look great and don't take away from the granite. Thanks again.
