Kitchen Renovation

Our kitchen was in need of a serious renovation. Hard to believe this is the same kitchen.

Looks great. I love the wall for the ovens. Is the top one a microwave?

Thank you, yes the top one is a microwave.

I thought your top pictures were what you were saying desperately needed renovating, and was going to tell you I'd take it in a minute. Your tile looks like it's travertine and is gorgeous. I have a ceramic mosaic tile very similar to that for my backsplash that I absolutely love. It gives a very earthy look to the kitchen.

What are the dimensions of the kitchen? Also, what is on the other side of the peninsula?

Love the new kitchen. Why didn't you elect to face the peninsula bar in matching stained wood?

The kitchen is approx. 12'X12'. We used bead board on the backside of the bar for now. Our next project will include a stone wall around our fireplace which faces the same direction as the backside of the bar. It's a great room. We haven't decided on the stone yet and want to make sure it all flows together yet not be over bearing. Most likely it will end up another color or matching stone to the fireplace wall in the end.

I am planning the exact layout (except for the double oven) in 12 x 13 space with family room behind peninsula. What does the before picture look like? How do you like the "flow" of the area - must allow for multiple chefs.

the last picture is the old kitchen, white painted cabinets. The layout is wonderful, flows very well. We put the cook top on the peninsula so I wouldn't have my back to everyone when cooking. Also we bowed the granite out in the center to put a little extra space between cooking and whomever may be sitting at the bar. Big family. Bought this house 2 years ago with planning on making the kitchen our own and for retirement. One of the most awesome things is the big bow window. It really opened up the space.

Lapadavano thanks for posting the old pictures I can see you put the time to consider all that you need.

We recently did our kitchen and love the end result although it was a very tough journey during construction phase.

Attached are pictures of our reno.

Meggielh..... Electrolux 30" Double Wall Ovens Model# EI30EW45PS. Electrolux Micro Wave EI24MO45B, Microwave Trim # EI30MO45TS.

Sahar01... It's a Jenair 36" Electric downdraft. The blower is under the unit in the cabinet below and vented down and out through the bar step to the back of the house. We chose to do a bar step to hide the vent.

And the refrigerator was almost in the same spot more to the left where the pantry is now.

Thank you for this information. We have a 12x13 kitchen that's part of a 31L x12W room and I just can't figure the best lay out. You're kitchen is a great inspiration. Everyone suggest tearing down the wall between our front formal LR & DR but we don't want the expense and also we like the separation having a small child.
